There might be some of you reading this who don't know much about me, so I will give my short life history (you can visit my personal website at http://www.michaelnehring.com).
My name is Michael Peter Nehring (I think most people call me Mike, but I'm not sure).
I was born February 16th, 1985 in New Britain, Connecticut.
I have 4 sisters (Katherine, 20, Anna, 16, Martha 7, Sarah, 4) and 2 brothers (Jonathan/Blin, 14, David, 9). The ages will change.
I was homeschooled since I was 4 years old until I was 16. A little after turning 16, I started going to Central Connecticut State University in New Britain (CCSU).
After a year at CCSU, I transfered to the University of Connecticut (UConn). My major was originally marketing, then I switched to a dual degree doing both marketing and mathematics, then I decided business school was going to take too long, so I changed to just math.
I enjoy doing pure math. Computational math can be fun, but there is a lot of room for errors. I enjoy proving abstract concepts.
I am currently a Junior, and after my grades for Fall 2003 get posted, I will be a senior.
After I graduate UConn in December 2004, I hope to start graduate school for mathematics, working toward a Ph.D degree.
For money, I run an online software company. I hope to make a living running my own business for the rest of my life.
In my spare time, I enjoy exercise of various sorts, making videos, making music (I play drums and guitar), doing math, making computer programs, studying the Bible, hanging out with friends, etc
